The home of Eclipse, the witchy feline protagonist of my game, where they brew potions. This work is part of my final university project.
This was my first time using a trim sheet- to fit the rest of my game, I kept it as 2D. I painted the wood and glass in Krita, leaving a section for the metal part of the chest to be textured in Substance Painter straight on the model. The rest of the assets were hand-painted in Substance Painter.
For the cauldron VFX, I attempted using Houdini and Blender, but in the end, Unreal's Niagara system was the easiest to use and implement in the project. I used a combination of sprite and mesh emitters, creating custom sprites in Krita for the smoke and fire.
